Default EGR, and fuel pressure regulator

On my 96 lt1 my fuel pressure regulator smells of gas in the vacuum line and wont hold any vacuum for long, need to replace it. also my egr valve is bad too, and my air pump and the piping from the manifolds are taken off, can i just remove the egr, block off the intake and reinstall the egr and vacuum line to fool the computer with out any problems..

or replace both parts..thanks

No, '96 can't be tricked like that. It will be much easier to just replace it.

If you have gas in the vac line change the oil before driving the car to avoid any engine damage.

And unless you program it out, the lack of an EGR will throw a code but has no ill effects. My EGR piping was gone when I got my '85 and I just pulled my EGR valve off a couple of months ago when I did my heads.
