i am looking to boost my performance on my stock 84 engine. i know about the 85 fuel pump but need to know where to do the fuel regulator on the rear tb. how much would it cost to port the intake and any other parts you recommend like cam and gears
Do a youtube search and it will turn up tons of info on installing a modified tb cup and screw to increase pressure. Check ebay there's a guy who sells this for about 85 bucks.
You will need the actron fuel pressure tester with fuel pressure release valve and tbi adapter to test pressure.
A good hydralic shop MAY ( real longshot, impossible to find ) have the fuel safe STEEL schrader valve that can be welded to the stock fuel line in order for you in the future to test your fuel pressure without having to remove the line to fit the tester.Otherwise you will have to find a brass one ( also very difficult to find by itself in the right size ) and just make your own adapter with fuel injection line.
If you are going to use the 85 pump you should install an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator to bring the pressure down to say 20lbs then let the stock regulator reduce it to 12 or 14, why? because you MAY blow the stock regulator seal. Others have not done this yet others have had their seals blow due to too much pressure, your choice.
Do a search on here and you will find a TON of help already posted on your questions for the crossfire that will help.

That is 100% wrong. Misinformation. You have to do no such thing. Stock regulator will work just fine.
Just found out from the guy i bought it from the car has had its transmission rebuilt in 2000 also installed a shift kit to it and has magnaflow cat back exhaust
What brand of header should i get and what type because i can barely find magnaflow headers for a 84 i dont know if an 86 year would fit in my car. Im new to these things but really trying to learn.
I have headman headers on my. I would suggest getting powder coated or putting better paint on before install. My original paint lasted about a week with the car running in the garage about an hour. otherwise they bolt up fine bolts are easy to get to and they have good ground clearance.

I found that only hedman offerred a full lenght header at 1 5/8 inch no air tubes. Hooker only offered 1 3/4 inch no air tubes. Maybe that has changed. Been 10 years. Mine is a 1984....
Any idea where i can get the holders that share the same bolt as the valve cover, stock plug wire holder, a few of mine broke off and snapped because of old age, need to replace all of them and looking for the ones that are the same as the ones i have now
What do i do about the stove pipe, do i need it or can i go without it, was thinking about getting tpis headers with their y-pipe, but it doesnt look like anyplace for the stove pipe just confused on what to do, if i dont need it how do i go about blocking it off or moding or something
Tubes that are welded onto the stock exhaust manifold
What do i do with the bars that are welded onto the stock exhaust manifold, when i get the new ones will i have to weld them back on there or do i even need them
