Default Fuel Pressure Regulator Question

1996 LT1

I had the fuel rail separated from the injectors and noticed that even after an hour, fuel was still freely flowing out of the fuel rail.

Is this normal?

No the key was not ON...key was NOT in ignition, fuel was not pressurized.

Fuel just was always leaking out of the fuel rail.

One other thing;
an injector O-ring dropped in an injector hole.
Will it pass thru, or does the intake have to come off to retrieve it.

If you dropped a ring into the intake, it will probably be chopped up and burnt as it passes the valves and goes into the cylinder. This should not do any damage.

Even after you relieve the pressure in the fuel system, there is still fuel in the lines to the rails and in the rails themselves. Did you remove the gas cap or loosen it so there is no residual pressure from the tank?

You can elevate the rail above the tank level and it should stop leaking if your pressure has been relieved at the tank.

Thanks John....no I did not remove gas cap.

Good to hear about the Oring being destroyed when running....I was about to order gaskets.
