AC prob on 1994 Coupe with base AC-non electronic
1994 Corvette LT1 Coupe, base AC system –non electronic,(manual) no motor mods, 149K miles.
Here is the issue. After recharging my AC system I noticed two issues.
1-the AC compressor will not cycle off -it’s constantly engaged.
2-My cooling fans are continually on when the motor is running, even when I disconnect power from the compressor.
When I began the recharge of freon in the system, the compressor began its normal cycling. It cycled quickly then started to settle down closer to its normal rate as the system took in the Freon. Close to the end of the recharge the compressor cycled on and it won’t cycle off normally.
The system blows cold just fine. When I disconnect the compressor from the power it will cycle off (disengage) and both fans will stay on.
There is some switch or sensor not telling the compressor to cycle off.
My thought is I lost a relay or more likely a pressure switch in the system, or was the scale reading wrong and I introduced too much Freon into the system?

Thanks!

IMO it has to be the pressure switch.
Before removing it (and having to refill) try disconnecting the elec conn and putting a little dielectric grease on the terminals.

-On a good note, the AC blows ice cold and the engine temps are right on target at 197...in traffic she's 200

Probably slightly overcharged. You need gauge set or atleast low side gauge. Low side should drop to.or below 30-25 psi and compressor should kick out.
