Default Pulley help---92 double rib to 94 style conversion....

Ok, I broke my power steering pulley (long story, but I will never change my rack and pinion again :U ) so I am looking to switch to the later single side ribbed style serpentine belt. Anyone done this? I need to know what I need. I posted a topic in parts for sale to reply to if you have parts. Thanks in advance..... :flag

I did this to my old '92 and thought and never regreted it. I want to say that they total cost from GM was about $200 with the belt.

You will need to change the Power Steering Pulley, Idler Pulley, Belt.

The part numbers are

Idler Pulley (Pulley only) 10105355
Power Steering Pulley 10227069
Belt 10230259

If I can be of furhter assitance please let me know.

Duntov,

Did you need a special tool to pull the power steering pump pulley? The manual says you need one, but I didn't try yet.

Thanks

Yes, there was a special tool. I used one that a friend of mine had.

Do you need 2 idler pulleys? I was just looking, and I am not sure if the belt routes the same. If it does, I need the pulley for the tensioner, as well as the idler.. Correct?

I do not remember, but I want to say that I only needed one idler pulley.

I do not know of any place that has any pictures of the early LT1 engines to confirm this.

Thumpr,
I did this conversion, and you will need an idler pulley, and the tensioner pulley.

What belt did you use? I have tried a couple, but either too short or too long. Thanks. :chevy

When I did the conversion I used the factory '94 belt from GM.
