Looking for a harness bar
For my '90 ZR-1. I have seen harness bars that have a large halo loop behind the driver and passenger seats. That's what I would like to get. Also, is there any interference with the seat when it is adjusted all the way back? Lastly, I would like it to bolt in with no permanent mods and w/o losing the stock seat belts.
Anyone know of a bar that fits my needs?

Heres a pic of mine
Mounts into the stock seatbelt mounts and also into the rear roof bolts. Very good quality and easy to remove whenever. Since it does mount into the roof bolts it makes taking the top off a pain but I never take mine off anyways.

Arizona Speed and Marine carries them. I have the same one as IcemanZ06. "All Black Rose Matallic owners think alike" I have 5 point harnesses (in purple) attached to mine and my stock belts. You can get good SFI approved harnesses from SafeQuip (highly recommended) at a great price.

I gotta plug the Cross-Bar from Dave at http://www.R-Dracing.com, quality bar (camera mount is included) and allows the seat to go all the way back and keeps the stock seats belt usable when I'm not using the 5-point harness. Easy to take out if you want to and you won't be able to tell it was there. He even has a group purchase going on now. He really takes care of his customers needs.

I have the AS&M bar in my 91 Z. It works great. Looks cool too. And they make them in chrome too.
Also, Gunner, has a Terry Farber bar in his 93 Z. Terry's bar mounts a little different but looks similar to the AS&M bar.

I'm looking for the same thing too,Cam,and I think I want a chrome unit. Don't think I want to mess with installing a rollbar in the Callaway.

I may buy a Terry Farber bar for my '95 and put my Exotic Muscle bar in my '93.
Terry Farber seems to be the best priced one out there(although I haven't checked recently).
The Exotic Muscle requires some minor trimming of the carpet.

Re: Looking for a harness bar (RatRacer)
any link to this "Terry Farber" bar? (didn't know 'bout that one)
They probably stiffen up the body real nice tho eh?
so the general overall opinion on the hoops on the AS&M is.........?
Do they offer real protection or just for looks? I see the fine print that they aren't roll bars per sé.
Since it was mentioned, what does NHRA or SCCA say about them?

1. Stiffen up body well...No, not really. You can feel some in the back, but not much.
2. The hoop bar is great for looks as far as roll protection, no. However, they make a great mounting place for harnesses and would protect you the same way stock belt mountings would. The bar is very stong.
3. SCCA / Auto-X Approved. Don't know about others.
Well, I hope I was some help.

The "Loops" are just for looks and to jack up the price. I recomend the one from http://www.R-Dracing.com, go to their web site to see pics. I use a 5-point harness for the NCCC events. And it does stiffen up the body. Dave at R-D Racing supports the CorvetteForum and is having a group purchase right now to save you even more.

One of the best things I ever bought for my Vette, it really takes the flex out of it! :)
