Default Code P1416 Air Check Valve Passenger Side

In the C5 forums, I saw this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...eck-valve.html

In there, there is pretty detailed discussion on how to basically attempt a cleaning job on the check valves using carburetor cleanser along with pressurized air.

In the discussion in that thread, it is noted that it is possible to insert the cleanser into the hose at the junction point in the hose near the alternator (see pics).

However, on my C4 '96 Grand Sport, my air check valve hoses do not have that separator. Instead, to insert any sort of carburetor cleanser or pressurized air, I need to temporarily unhook the hose from some of their connections near the air check valves.

That seems like a decent approach but what I am running into is that it looks like it is really difficult to actually remove the hose from the air check valve or from the T in the hose near the driver's side. I am able to loosen the plastic clamps that are in place but attempting to remove or pull the hose away seems to require a tremendous amount of force. My fear is potentially damaging the hose or something else by doing this wrong.

Attached is a couple of photos of the air check valves and the hose I am referring to.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this right and safely without damaging things by applying too much or the wrong force?

Overall view outlining the air check valves and the connecting hoses.
