Hi
bought that No Flex Frame Stiffener Bar System, The instructions they sent are horrible.Nothing is labled and no pics of rear bracket on the car.
Not sure how the rear bracket attaches. Can someone send a picture of rear bracket from under the car? toddcerami@comcast.net
thanks
todd
hi
vette2vette sent some pics, pretty easy once you see a picture. install took about 3 hrs but I went slow. you did have to drill a 7/16 hole which I wasn't crazy about . I had some clearance issues in the driver side front bracket, it was hitting the brake lines. Had to move them a b it and the driver back bracket hit the emergency cable. overall a nice fit. I will let you know if it was worth it.
thanks
todd
Interested to see how you like it and if it made a difference. Most people that shell out $$ for something will always say its worth it. You seem pretty objective about it.
Wow, I never had to drill any holes on my install. Curious where the drilled holes are.
But I did have the interference with the ebrake cable.
Finally got around to taking my corvette out after installing the c4 no flex bars. It definitely had a lot less shake when the top was off.I still think it feels more solid with the top on. I may have to do some adjustments to bars to get all of the shake out. I am going to mess around with it next weekend. Will keep you posted.
Are you talking about more tightening of the bars?
I'm wondering if you can actually affect the A-B pillar spacing with these bars? Meaning increase/decrease the amount of space between the pillars.
yes , it doesn't tell you in the instructions how tight to make the bars. I did then pretty tight with only 2 or 3 threads left to tighten on each side.
I have 2 sets, the latest set has a extra hole in the rear most attachment.
I guess it's a improvement from the first design.
In regards to the adjustment, I tightened the bar until I had minimal deflection of the chassis.
I took the top off, used a jacking point that would induce the most flex in the chassis. After final adjustment I had 1 mm of deflection
