Hi kkesler,
No, the 95-96 will not work on your 92. The shafts are different.
Thank you for your Business!

My Vette has been running great since. I even raced it (auto cross and road course) for a year. (that was expensive) It hasn't given me any problems and still runs great.. (knock on wood).

BUT, I'm always looking for opti replacements, just in case, and this thread has helped me consider my choices.
Was this the Petris Enterprises Optispark you are referring to with a one year or five year $55 more warranty?

I'll answer my own post; Yes, it is Chris Petris who moved from Florida to Alabama and changed the name to Petris Enterprises as they wanted to expand to do many improvements but only work on Corvettes.

Installed mine in Feb. 2018, no problems, no issues, no anything other than I drop the hammer and the LT1 lights up the fires just great!, and it was all for under $190.00. I have a retired GM Tech lives down the street and he was impressed, now if I could just get him to give up that scanner........

Mine has been in only 2 months, but noticed idle much smoother. I can now put my AAA card in the back of my wallet. Good product, and Christian easy to talk to.

Great to hear it! Sac City Corvette is at the top of my list when replacement time comes... in about 5 years.
Do you rebuild the original units or do you ship out new replacement units? And is there a core charge?

Hi,
We do not rebuild them. We only ship brand new ones out.

Thanks
Christian

I need another one. Mine went 2 years and 4 months.

You're selling a Gen I opti with a vent kit? Do I understand that correctly?

Hi Tom,
Sorry your Opti didn't go longer. We are not selling a non vented Opti with a vent kit. The non vented Opti is still the same.
AIP has only updated the vented Opti's at this point. They are planning a update for the Non Vent Opti's, but they could not give us a exact date that they will be available, only to say it may be 6 months or so.
Thank you,
Christian

To be fair-Is this the opti that got soaked with antifreeze?

It is. Good memory! That's why I'm not bitchin'. I was just checking to see if I could get a Gen I Vented.

I may just try cleaning this one again and see if it will keep going...again.

Yes, almost to the day it too crapped out and left me dead on the road and I needed to get flatbedded to my garage. I do all my own work and have since I was 14. Well, they wouldn't warranty the second time. Therfore I purchased a new old stock GM unit manufactured in Mexico for $400 from EBay.....that was 2 years ago and it's still going strong.

Most of us would pay a reasonable premium to not have to install another Optispark.....the original GM Opti in my car lasted some 15 years with that Mitsubishi sensor they refuse to sell unless you buy 10,000 units.

So, what is the track record to date on the AIP units, how long have they been around?

It’s now 2/4/2020 and the Vette now has 263k on it and that new old stock GM opti is still going strong!

Default Old man here who doesn't know much.

Hi, I've got a 93 Corvette Convertible and I'd like to be able to drive it with out it spitten & sputteren and stallin this damn Optispark. I replaced it once awhile ago with a stock one and now I'm getting the 0036 high res Pulse Circuit.
Want to replace the Optispark choices now being the Accel and found this today about the AIP unit which appears to be a stock unit I've had this car since 98 and 50,000 miles sure like to have less problems I'm 71 not many to years to have have them in.

Please whats all you opinions.

Well it’s now COVID 2020 August 31 and the OEM from Mexico GM optispark is still going strong......car hasn’t driven much since March but I probably have around 60k on it since June of 2014 when I installed it!

I sure hope it stays that way....
