Default 86-91 vs 84-85 exhaust ??? - front Y-pipe..

any reason, an 86-91, replacement (flowmaster), catless front Y-pipe wouldn't fit an 84-85 corvette? I have an 86-91, super high flow, magnaflow main cat, and an 86-91 corsa cat back system that I'd like to install on my 85. I'm thinking the flowmaster front y-pipe might tie this all together, but I'm not 100% sure it will fit. thus the question....

thanks for the reply.

one other question -- did you also add the rear hanger? the rear hanger strap assembly that bolts to the C-beam, located just in front of the differential.

You mentioned looking for this information in another post and it seemed a bit vague but now you mention "rear" it's more easily understood. I believe you need to be a bit more specific and request information for the specific series C-beam. A D36 and a D44 would have different hole location I'm sure. I have a D36 C-beam that has a single hole in the rear and I've a D44 that has a pair of them in a similar location. I could I'm sure make a template of either but if you're interested just check eBay for some proper C-beams and post a link to the one that looks most like what you're interested in.

I could do a template of either of mine if it matched what you're interested in. No hard to follow dimensions like I saw posted earlier in the other thread but a template of maybe the "real deal".

I've no idea what years my C-beams are from but I'd be happy to help if I could.

There's maybe a bit more hardware required back there:

Can i get a bit of info on that? I am hoping to put the Borla or Flowmaster catback on my 84 but the ones I'm after are 86-91 and I heard about compatibility issues.

there are compatibility issues because of the flange mating on the cat. 84-85 differs from 96-91. most, if not all, cat back systems are designed for the later. here's a link to the 86-91 exhaust retrofit on my 85 -

The difference is only in how the main cat mates up to the rest, any exhaust shop can do this job without issue.
