Mt-2500 question
On my mt2500 the third led is for torque converter lock up. What I don't understand is- when the light is on, does that mean no lock up? I confused. Don't realy understand lock up and when it's suppose to work and when it's not. I have read a lot, maybe too much and still am confused if mine is working right. 1989, 700r4. 48000 miles

Torque converter lockup happens when you go faster than 40 MPH. It does not matter what gear you are in. I have tested this and achieved lockup in 1st, 2nd and Drive.
Since the VSS doesn't know if the car is going forward or backwards, it's theoretically possible to achieve lockup in Reverse at 40 MPH. I do not want to test this... ;-)
