I would like to replace one injector (#6 cylinder) Are the fuel rails for each bank or are all 8 connected? I am under the assumption that 4 injectors are together on one rail and can be changed as such.
Just wondering if I need "O" rings for 4 or for 8 injectors?
well... if you want my opinion, if you are replacing one injector, especially on a 92, you need to replace all 8, cause the other 7 won't be too far behind.
I sure hope you didn't go to the local Chevy dealer... they rape people for parts like this... hard... the Corvette vendors aren't any nicer, either.
Not knowing the rest of the story, reach out to Jon at FIC and order up a set of 8, matched, Bosch III's... so much better.
As for o-rings... regardless, you have to buy them for all 8 injectors. FelPro makes really pretty blue ones. I would replace all o-rings at this point, too.
Oh, as an aside, the factory Multec injectors were junk from the get-go... they haven't aged well, either. Very touchy for things like fuel treatments and such... not a good part.
Yes, Jon is the one to contact. My original 93 had Bosch 3's but had the wrong electrical values and Jon replaced them. They don't make new ones anymore. When I put in my newer engine I remove the multec's and put in the newer Bosch fours, but needed an extended wiring adapters and needed to use the hold down clips. Did not need the clips on the three's
Thank you to all that offered suggestions. It was a bad injector. I replaced only the one injector and the LT1 on initial test drive was fine. No more blowing fuses!
Of course, I did have to replace a power steering pump along the way also.
This forum and Utube really made this problem a breeze to repair.
