Clutch feels like it's being dumped
Hi all. I have a 1985 Corvette. I'm having a problem with my clutch. When I am at a stop, I will push the clutch in and put the transmission in first gear. I will then give it a little throttle and gradually release the clutch, as I am gradually releasing the clutch it feels like the clutch dumps, the car bucks and lurks forward.
It never used to do this.
I suspected a leak in the hydraulic clutch system, and I found that the seal in the back of the master cylinder was leaking, so I replaced the master cylinder.
I pulled down the slave cylinder and there were no leaks and it was operating correctly.
The problem is still here.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
Thank you.

Grease or oil on the clutch disk can cause the clutch to grab and chatter. Is your rear seal ok?

If the clutch was hanging up between released and not, when it finally does it could do exactly what your describing. I've seen it years ago with a full mechanical clutch so I assume it's possible with a hydraulic clutch.
