{SOLVED}second optispark seal leaking w/h new opitspark
i have a 1996 LT4 and i having a little trouble with opitspark seal i have installed 2 seals and a new opitspark from GM a fel pro seal and a victor seal and both seals have leaked and are still leaking { i didn't have a leak before i replaced the optispark and the seal} i also replaced the water pump and seal and used a special tool to install the water pump seal and it's not leaking. i do know that GM has a new part number for the opitspark has anyone ran into this? the seal seem tight on the opitspark before i installed it

frank when I did mine I bought that tool but never used it. On I think amazon I found a brand new timing cover with all three seals installed for like 80 bucks and went that route. doesn't leak a drop.

OK, this is what I found, water pump seal, that is a tricky little booger after 4 timing cover sets. because it was cheaper and easier to find and buy a sets then it was to find seals.
BUY the tool it's cheaper then doing it 4 time, there is an upside to doing so many times,
i have found the it's just a car underneath all the pretty and shiney fiberglass, don't be afraid the fix it yourself, we have gotten to where we can do it in less than 2 hour from tare down to adding antifreeze.

Good to hear. Have you found out to pull your knock sensors to flush?

Frank try putting some grease on the rubber part of the seal and use some silicone on the seal where it contacts the timing cover. Good luck!
