'96 Headlamp mechanism binding
Hi folks. New owner here.
I have no idea what was done by the dealership, but they were unsuccessful repairing the headlamps. It looked like they just shot spray lube at everything.
So I replaced the bushings and reassembled everything. The lower snap ring was missing, along with whatever bushing/spacers were there.
I acquired a spent casing and made a bushing, put it all back together using the pass. side as a guide.
Now the headlamp will open all the way, but it hangs with a bind in the mechanism halfway back.
The motor bushings are a simple two beer fix. But I had that assembly in and out of the car six times before giving up on the bind issue. Exasperating.
Any thoughts appreciated.

hard to tell from here but think I would be looking for a used one from a scrap yard or ebay. try working it up and down with the **** and see if you can find the bind. not sure if you can ajust the shut off on the motor.

Seems like old times
'96 Driver side is binding midway, then closing. Hood open.
The motor looks like it wants to twist off while spinning. Big time bind. Hard to turn by hand.
Here I go again, 13 months into a 12 month warranty(?) A diversion from the '95 optispaz-in-progress.
I'm losing my religion. Maybe I can part out the mechanics and turn the gorgeous body into a 25 cent Kmart ride in the backyard. Next to Zoltan.
