ok Last week the coolant hose from the water pump blew and got the distributor wet thank god i was close to my house I push it and fixed the leak since than the car would turn off while driving it anytime it wants to any ideas
My waterpump was leaking and was replaced. About 2,000 miles later the car just died, like I had turned the key off (no missing or sputtering). Once at idle, once at 55 mph. It was the distributor.
It just cuts out like you've turned the ignition off and on the highway the engine cut out and trun on by it self Iam thinking that the distributor is gone or still wet or something
Check to see if any codes are present. With a malfunctioning opti, you may get the low resolution code (16), a high resolution code (forget #) and they will sometimes throw a code 43 in just for good measure. Saw a 95 do this last week at Carlisle, threw all three codes just moving the car. Sure sounds like the opti is heading south.
