Egr question, still comfused
test anymore, but I still have questions, even after reading all the info I could find on this site
89 stock L98, auto transmission
I know I have to use block off plate on manifold where egr valve is now located. I have to remove vacuum electronic control mod and plug vacuum line. Do I need to do anything with pipe that comes from exhaust and the temp switch that is on the pipe? What do I have to do in the tune to not get code for egr problem. I think I have decided that my random miss at idle is from the egr valve not completely sealing off the flow at idle due to carbon build up inside of manifold. I think it would just be better if I just get rid of it completely. Are there any down sides to this?

thanks in advance
Mike

You can download tunerpro (www.tunerpro.net), you have to buy an ostrich emulator and download the bin and data stream definitions for your year corvette. Then you can do tuning and remove the EGR check tick yourself.
Or pay someone to do it...
Maybe visit the C4 scan and tune section first, it can be a steep learning curve for some.
