Default 1994 Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement

Hello there. Ordered a new brake master cylinder reservoir for my 94'. It looks to be a direct replacement, except for a missing nipple on the side that feeds a rubber line. I ordered Cardone part #1R-2607. I contacted the seller to see what they have to say but figured I'd run it by you guys and see if any of you ran into the same thing.

The original reservoir:

You got the wrong part. Other years (93 and such I think) do not use that port to supply fluid to the ABS pump.

Not the first time they screwed up their part numbers as I had a problem with them with a brake booster recently. Packaged the wrong part in the right box, took a week to resolve. Don't think they are very careful.

Who did you order the part thru?

I got the part # off rock auto. Then ordered the part from Auto Parts Express ebay store with the same part #. There listing says brake master cylinder 92'-96'.

Do you know the correct part #? Rock auto listed that part # 1R-2607 as the only replacement for a 94'.

I will look and see if I have any more on it.

I would call Cardone and speak to their tech department and see if you can figure out a solution.

In my case with the booster they supplied all AutoZone stores with the wrong part and I had to find old stock before I got a correct booster. Cardone did not even know the error till I called them.

I honestly don't think there is a replacement reservoir for my year. Don't want to buy a whole new master.

Not replacing the m/c. Just the reservoir, it has a slow leak somewhere as evidenced in the pic. Doesn't appear to be the cap.

To the best of my knowledge and research so far.

PBR made the reservoir in Tennessee and seemed to closed down in 2010. Probably aftermarket manufactures picked up the effort. (They made the original master also). The 92-94 uses the additional port down to the ABS pump. The 95-96 did not use the extra port and it seems that what they are selling to cover all years.

You might have to go to a junk yard and get an older master and see if you can get the correct reservoir. The internet is a good place to research obviously. You might have to speak with the aftermarket manufactures to get additional information.

I am having the same problem where can I find the correct reservoir with the side connection port on it for the ABS hose on the Master cylinder Brake Reservoir . I also have a 94 Corvette. Thank you.

If I was having that big of an issue, I would drill out the new reservoir. Install a compression nipple, size needed and be done with it.

That would be tough to do being it is made of cheap plastic but thanks for your info. and input.
Doorman sells one Dorman M630892 New Master Brake Cylinder with reservoir and abs port connector (nipple).
I found it on ebay but it is listed as fitting a 95 corvette only which is wrong it will fit all C4's that require the abs connector on it. 92-95 C4's.
You have to buy the Master cylinder also to get the reservoir is not sold by itself anywhere that I can find. This is a big problem for Corvette owners to find this Setup hopefully this will help.

Glad you found the part you needed! I was trying to find it without the whole assembly. I was able to clean up the reservoir and re-seal it at the seam with a clear epoxy that is impermeable to brake fluid.
