Default Windshield Wiper on the door panel connector wires got detached. 1985 Vette

Hey there, I've been trying to figure out how to unassemble this connector to reattach the wires on the door panel. Heres a video I took, maybe it will help tell me what I need to buy or how to fix it, Thanks in advance

Look in that connector. There will be a release for the wire. Sometimes you just need a sharp pick, and flashlight to see it.

Isn't that the single wire for ground to the switch? The release for the terminal should be on the male blade end of the terminal NOT where the wire enters/crimps. When you get the terminal removed, snapshot it and measure the width. It's likely older Packard and an easy find local. Width determines which.

A very thin blade should release it and push it out the rear of connector where the crimp was, The tab release should be on the same side of the connector as the protrusion that retains the connector body to switch?

So what happens if I just leave it and don't replace it?

'84 and '86 has a different but similar diagram in the FSM. Illumination isn't mentioned. Even though the wiper switch is the same '84 - '89 there's notes that mention cut splice for '87 +. Post #7 I believe is correct for'87+. The note from GM SPO I've added also. What happens when left undone? Who knows the wiring diagram in the '85 FSM might be used for explanations. '84 and '85 originally had a different part # for the wiper switch - 14047170

""So what happens if I just leave it and don't replace it?""

Since you are not taking advantage of the light inside the wiper switch your wife has to allow you to buy something else for your corvette !!!! It is in the corvette rule book .
