Default What is the pupose of this tubing?

This goes from both sides of the headers and into the back of the intake
Manifold.
Is there any problem removing this and blocking it off?

Pumps fresh air into the exhaust during warm up/idle to help complete combustion in the exhaust system.

Well, that depends on wheter you will be smogged or not. IF you are, it IS needed. If not, you can dispose of it. I don't know about the LT1 but in the L98 you have a pipe to each exhaust manifold and another one to the cat. Remove it on both sides, cut off the pipe next to the cat and seal it up. I ordered headers WITHOUT the AIR tubes and it made the engine bay cleaner.

I was going to answer this yesterday but I wasn't sure if it was for a.i.r. injection system & the egr too. I see there a flange that bolts up to the intake. Most a.i.r. systems bolt up to a pump.

The pump only runs for the first few minutes of starting then the whole system does nothing. Does not really affect the engine running.

I'm sure it's been removed probably or racing and such.

Do you just hate looking at it?

It was in my way to drop the intake straight down(engine on stans)
And as I looked at it I thought what do I need this for?
