Used to be a place in NY that did 4+3 rebuilding and had parts. SK-Speed was the company. skspeed.com maybe?

It may be that C4 owners with the 4+3 may have to go to a TKO 5-speed if it turns out that there isn't anyone who can rebuild them or have parts available.

Here's a link to a TKO vendor that sells direct bolt-in TKO's for the 84-88 cars. Also a product flyer.

Thanks will ck into it
If I could find a place locally to fix it maypurchase the car its in
If I had to do a trans swap have to cross it off the list
4 spd most times is fine but it would be used on long fwy drives
My days of laying under cars are over

I always heard that those trannys had to be shipped off to specialty shop out east. Local tranny builders, even the dealers, didn't have the tools to do it. Anyway, that's what I heard and don't know if its true. I DO understand the statement..laying under car days are over.. for me too. best of luck.

I had a Tremec TKO600 installed two years ago in my '84. It was just too difficult to find someone to rebuild my old DN 4+3 (overdrive unit began to fail).

The kit from Silversport Transmission fit perfectly, but still a bit pricey. It was a great upgrade.

As scary as this may seem and how well I would trust it, while checking availability for a simple trans filter for a 86 Automatic on the Auto Zone web page I got Curious, well under Manual trans they listed Re Manufactured O-D units for the 4+3 for $1800.00
Odd's are if you called them on it they would probably say out of stock or not available Who knows?
