I just picked up an 89 with 38,000 miles last Dec, so far only changes have been new tires. I recently retired so cash flo will be slightly reduced. Have TPIS headers ordered and will be removing cats and installing x pipe with dual pipes. Would like to improve car for street performance and maybe a grudge night at local drag strip. Have access to a lot of gm performance stuff so will be sticking to tpi and #113 heads which I intend to have worked on. I have been reading posts on this forum until my eyes have bled!! Know I have to port intake but am confused about cams, with these goals in mind what is better choice, ZZ4 or Hot Cam Kit ( understand about needing to upgrade springs). Every time I see a post about improving performance I see that goals need to be established before people want to respond so there it is !

No cam help.

If an A4 car your plan has merit. If M6 car: PITA to shift @ 4800 rpm suggest mods to provide increased RPM.

With either trans suggest a rear gear change.
