change back pads on a 1993?
Hi, the back brake pads are thin, the car had 29,670 and now it has 31,345 I want to change them. Is it just 2 bolts to take them off, the front are really good they may have been changed in the past.

Easier if you take the tire off first..

In addition to what antfarmer contributed, If you are still running the original knock sensors and o2 sensors you may want to change them since they are going on 23 years.

First off if you do not have a FSM (Factory Shop Manual NOT a Chiltons or Hays) get one it is a very vital tool both for yourself and those helping you, in most cases you ask for a how do I and the person giving you some help quite often will say refer to sec. ??-??
Like now what you need to know is in Sec 5B2-1 and Sec 5F-3
Changing Rear pads has some extra things like you need to cage your brake ratchet adjuster. for the ease requires the drivers seat removed its track to gain access to the ratchet
than you can Collapse your caliper pistons once you have caged ratchet.
To release the the teeth from ratchet with a wire or pick release ratchet from the gear
rotate the gear and cage with small screwdriver or pick with one of them thru the small hole in adjuster that will hold gear from turning.
some have made the Mistake of backing the cable off by the Left Caliper and wonder why they don't have a functioning adjuster.
