EGR switch connection

EGR switch connection
I changed the valve covers on my 1987 L98. In doing so I managed to break the wire on the EGR temp switch. I broke the connector at the far end, not the end in the EGR tube. I bought a new switch, but cannot figure out where it plugs in.
Here's the broken piece. The broken connector is on the left:
Here's the new piece already screwed into the EGR tube. Where does the connector plug in? Does it plug into the firewall somewhere? Does anyone have a photo?

The connector I believe should be rear if the plenum under tubes and in the vicinity of the OPS. Do you have a FSM? If you do check the 8A-201-0 images and I'm confident it may show there.
I realized later I have the '87 FSM on this machine.

It is very easy to lose that end behind the distributor. Get a good flashlight and a coat hanger bent into a hook. It goes into the harness near the distributor and mine favored the passenger side of the car.

And on a side note, save that old switch. They are pretty scarce now and it may be useable (with a little work) in the future if availability goes to zero.

Is it just a single wire coming off the harness? Can you recall what color? I can't seem to find anything that isn't already attached.

It is a single wire sprouting from the harness just to the driver side of the distributor, its
green with a black stripe (on my car). WVZR-1's diagram is a good one. Its a dark wire in a
dark cramped spot. Lift up the distributor wiring harness and you should find it.

Safety Car
Can't tell for sure but it looks like the broken connection is either a solder joint or a spade connector under shrinkwrap. In either case, I would think it wouldn't be a hard repair to make it operational again. Never hurts to have another one on the shelf 'just in case'.

I still can't find the harness side connector. I spent a couple of hours looking. I did find a bunch of other connectors not connected, I am guessing for the AIR pump.

A $3 connector shell would have fixed the OP's older but since he showed the new already installed and I couldn't actually see the condition of the connection to the threaded end of sensor I showed him just what he asked for and nothing more.
The advice not to just "toss it" is a good one and for a fix of the older he needs only a single pin Weather-Pack shroud.
He can take this information to a "local" quality auto parts jobber or fleet supplier and buy it. "LOCAL and QUALITY" important - the larger chains likely NOT.

** wire should be DK GREEN I believe and you should be able to start at the ECM "pass-through" to the cabin and work out from there.
