EGR PLUGS! Can't find!
Im taking off my egr system and I ordered the blocking plates from TPIS
but I'm having a problem finding plugs for the headers where the EGR
System connected.
The threads are not pipe and their not SAE. They have a fine thread.
TPIS was already closed so I could not ask but I don't see them listed.
Anyone have any ideas? This is on a 93 LT1

just reuse the bolts that hold the egr tube to your exhaust manifold, the small block off plate that bolts to the manifold will also fit on the exhaust manifold so you will need 2 of them or fabb one yourself. you could take the old bolts to a hardware store and have them matched up with some stainles.

I think you misunderstood what I was asking.
Here is a pic of the header and also a pic of the piece from the EGR that threads into the header.
I need a plug just like it with the same fine threads
This is where I need a plug.
On both sides.

This is the piece that went there.

That's what I thought you might mean BUT you mentioned "HEADERS" so I just left it alone. I don't know the tubing diameter but you need an appropriate "INVERTED FLARE PLUG" I'm quite sure.
Try a 3/4-18 bolt (1/2 tubing), a 11/16-18 bolt (7/16 tubing) or a 7/8-18 bolt (5/8 tubing). Now if the tubing were 9/16 then NONE of these would fit and the 9/16 INV FLR plug is a hard find. If a bolt fits then get an appropriately sized INV FLR PLUG.
It's more frequently mentioned to be "secondary AIR tubes I believe so ...
I'm quite confident that Metric INV FLR wasn't used but

I use oil drain plugs from a dodge truck. You can get them at your local parts store. I did pick up some copper gasket to use with them. Here is a link. http://www.partsgeek.com/s8rczyx-dod...Oil+Drain+Plug

If the M22 is a fit like the poster in #6 mentioned then it's a solution and confirms that GM went to a Metric spec. I'd maybe confirm with a SPG (Screw Pitch Gage).

I doubt "cleaner" and way more expensive!! The threaded solution allows the "refit to OE" which could dramatically impact resale.

I could TIG weld(clean weld) those for less than $5 in material and it wouldn't take but maybe 30 minutes to do the job and after maybe a bit of cleanup no one would even be able to tell they were even there to begin with.

The trick is "YOU COULD" - "MOST CAN'T" but then there's the resale. For all including yourself i don't see how the threaded plug could be disputed.

Not disputing it, just offering the idea of welding it. I just like the cleaner look I suppose. The cost of the PO hiring out the work shouldn't be all that much.
