Default Conversion to Amber Tail lights

I bought 2 amber lenses for my corvette and I would like to have amber turn signals but have the option to flip a switch (and lenses) to change to normal brake lights. How is the wiring done on these things and how can I splice the wiring to get my amber turn signals.
I could not find any specific wiring info when I searched.

The Corvette accessory catalogs used to have "Euro" conversion kits that included 2 amber tail lamp assemblies and a wiring conversion kit that allowed the turn signals to only use the amber lamps. Might want to check with places like Mid-America, Ecklers, ZIP, or some of the others.

To me it is so strange that US guys usually want to convert their Vettes to euro taillights and european Corvette owners admire the red taillights of the US models...

Probably a tale of "grass is greener on the other side"...

I believe that is very likely "TRUE"!!!!

The OP mentions "switched" - I ain't interested in participating. I understand what needs done but "switching" isn't anything I'd even think about contributing towards.

Aren't there 2 sets of filaments in each tail light? If you wanted to test and see what they'd look like split, maybe take a pair of bulbs and snip one contact on each bulb (not the same on both) and plug them in and see how it looks.

Personally I like both bulbs on and I'm not crazy about the amber lenses but that's me personally. Another thing is to insure that it's legal in your state to use amber lights on the rear of a car for turn signals.

One side of the switch would route the power into the amber lens housing like normal (for when you have a red lens in). The second setting would cut the car side brake/signal power to the red lens and then you would route power from the third brake light to the red lenses; through the switch.

Haha yeah I think that is funny too. But for me, I just find that red blinkers are harder for me to see. So I would like to change to ambers to increase the visibility of my intentions. Plus it looks kind of old school ferrari. I will probably tint the lenses as well so that will hide the ambers a little.

What I need to know is how can I tap into the turn signal power separately from the brake signal power.

I had to look over this again, plenty of people can help you swap to the Amber turn signals but I don't know about a "switch" to go back and forth with the push of a switch.

Is there some reason why my explanation in post #6 doesn't work?

There's likely a few maybe more. The OP has never mentioned the year of the car. Year would certainly matter.

Just leave the taillights alone and put the money into the motor.

It is a 1996 LT4. This is a really cheap mod. like 40 bucks maybe. Nevermind the switch portion of my question, I have enough knowledge to do that. I just don't know where to tap in to get a seperate signal for tail light and turn signal. Looking into C4Cruiser's recommendation ,I read that the process for switching to Euro lights from MAM or the like was more complicated if the 3rd tail light is high mounted like the zr1. So I imagine the 3rd light is part of the key to this problem. OVREBO 1 yeah that is what I am thinking. My only hold up is that I think 1 wire enters the housing which means I don't know how to get it to NOT turn on with the brakes. When I make it all up I will post a beautiful diagram for the switch. BTW I found amber tails and clear tail lenses from this ebay guy in mexico. micasmexlm
link takes you to his seller page on ebay.

You've now mentioned "the year" so .... is your intention to do the AMBER inboard or outboard? That might influence some decisions. MIGHT!

Do you have a FSM?

I honestly have been battling myself for inboard or outboard. Hopefully it doesn't make a difference so I can switch them easily if I feel like it.
Im sorry, what is a "FSM"
