Default Leaking oil drain plug

Doing my oil change this week. Last oil change, I looked at the washer on the oil plug. It doesn't look damaged in any way. What do I do to stop the leaking?

You can get some stuff at auto zone that you put on the threads and stops the leak. I use it on mine and it doesn't leak a drop any more.

They make diff type washers for sealing. I've used the soft metal crush style and metal with rubber center, but herd bad things bout the plastic ones. Like the plastic ones coming loose or worse.

When I worked in the garage a very long time ago... We would take a piece of cotton string and wrap it a few times around the drain plug before tighten it. I had the same problem with my 84 this weekend. The string sealed it up, no more drips.

My experience is that the nylon washers split and leak. I use a copper washer.
