Torqhead.......3-4 more weeks until ready to ship.......Under $2000 for turnkey. Around $1400 to get us going and use our own brackets, coils, wires......etc. Didn't ask him if it came with HPTuners. I highly doubt it for $1400. Supposed to be discounts whenever they first release it. He also said there is more Corvette stuff in the pipeline. Did not elaborate.

I asked him to join CorvetteForum and LS1tech

ckp, did you already pay for a kit? I REALLY hope they make it for the 92/93 LT1 Vettes as well.

Long answer.
No. It was "about 2 weeks out" whenever I first posted. My last conversation was "3-4 weeks out". There certainly has to be an issue with the CCM. He said there will be a module "attached" to the bottom of the Corvette PCM for this reason. The cars such as yours, with the black PCM, are not supported yet. Actually, no Corvette is supported yet. I offered to give them my car as a test mule and got no response.

I am .18 seconds from being in the 10's on a street driven NA car that looks pretty stock under the hood. If I could get some place within a reasonable distance to expertly tune my car, I would be well in the 10's. All I'm looking for is a perfect tune and there are alot more people willing/able to tune an 0411 PCM. I'd like to see the engine I saw at the machine shop in a car with a dyno sheet. The optispark is a fine distributor IMHO, that's not my reason for wanting a switch.

Short answer
No. I think it's vaporware for the Corvette. I have to yank my motor to change the ATI damper. Might as well freshen it up while it's out, oh sheesh, I can still put a little bigger cam in, and the list goes on and on.

Regards

We had some discussion about this in a thread about replacing the optispark. What came out of the discussion (and emails sent to OTC - a company that makes diagnostic equipment) was that diagnostic equipment would not recognize the LSx computer.

The same goes for people (like myself and LOTS of Californians and other states) that mandate EPA checking for cars of a certain age. The equipment would not connect up with the new computer as the software is programmed for the computer that was in the car at the time.

I would really really like to have this available, but until the law is changed or another 5 yrs goes by (in Ohio it is cars after 25 yrs of age that don't get checked) that I would be able to implement it.

I imagine that you might be able read codes on the generic OBDII interface/bus, but to get in and read the PID and such that are programmed to read vehicle specific information, at least the ones from OTC won't connect (that is what they (OTC) told me)

Needless to say I was vastly disappointed as this unit would have opened up a lot of opportunities for getting my car tuned. There are not many left in my area that can do it. I have been told to buy the unit from Jet and then they could tune it, we don't do that anymore, etc etc.

If anyone here on the site knows of someone close to Akron Ohio area that has implemented the solution on of the other platforms (and a OBDII car) I could see if the OTC Nemisys that I have could read it and see the PID's.

Hello to anyone interested,

Resurrecting this to post that I purchased one of the "big" kits, which included HPtuners, fuel rail covers, etc.

I was warned in advance when I placed my order that the PCM was still in development stages and could take extra time, to which I agreed. The PCM took longer than anticipated due to issues with the CCM, but he did provide regular updates on the status, and as my 1994 is currently undergoing major surgery, the additional wait did not affect me much.

I'm happy with the quality of all the pieces, and dealing with the company was a pleasant experience for me.

If anyone has any questions in regards to the kit or would like some pictures, etc. Then feel free to reply and I'll answer to the best of my ability.

I don't get on forums much any more which is why it took me so long to see this thread.

Yes. I ordered the kit around April. The pcm wasn't ready until June iirc.

Very cool. Is it in your car yet? So if you ever need to read codes, how will you do so? Pics are always welcomed on this site

The way it was described to me, all that I'll have to do is plug a code reader into my data link. Since mine is one of those transition years, it's already got the obd II plug. To the best of my knowledge that's all that has to be done. I'll try to post some pictures today, I'm in the middle of some fiberglass repairs at the moment.

Oh it's not in the car yet, waiting on the engine to be returned.

That's interesting. I was looking a couple weeks ago and it still wasn't available. I'll have to say, when you start clicking off options, that thing gets up there in price. Thanks for the update.

Hey qwikets. It's out and working for the 94-96 cars. Still not ready for the 92-93. I spoke with them, and they do plan on making a kit for our speed density LT1s. If not, I wonder if we can re pin our cars to make it run on a 94 PCM?

A guy about 30 minutes from me has it on his 94. Hasn't driven it much because his 383 seized.

Did he grenade it from over-revving with the new ignition? Did you ride in his car after it was tuned? What were his or your impressions?

Thank you
