Can I get 420 crankHP, with my budget?
...and the budget is around $5000, I will do all the work myself. Expect the tuning.
Shipping to Sweden must lie in the budget. And I DONT count in ,ARP bolts, timing chain etc..
And could you post som links where to order the parts.
Im going to use the miniram as a intake.
The emissions in Sweden are not hard at all... :D
The thing is that I whas just about to order stuff some month ago, but dident due to family matters rolleyes: .
This stuff "http://www.moreperformanceinc.com/l98.htm" ..
BUT a littel bird wisperd that you could get the same ( or more )hp for less money, if you searched around a bit. And if you dident have hard emssions tests in your home country?!.
Could someone with experince help me out?
Or should I go with the "morepreformance" stuff?
THanks for your time...

Ok for an example..... I spent just under $3200 USD and got 388 crankHP without tuning it. I think it might of had about a 405 in it with tuning, not sure. I bought lots of used parts. (Heads, intake, cam were all used.) This price included all of my gaskets and bolts.

Re: (Lone Ranger)
copy the combo in my sig, you'll be spot on the money & probably slightly higher, once i get my combo tuned i know it will be close to 450hp/crank, machine work will use up a lot of the cash. bearing clearances, back cutting valves. i'll post back once i hook up my scanner what my labor recipts look like, this is typical for a high performance engine, roughly $2400 for labor, bolts, seals etc...feel free to ask any questions you want, i also might be able to clone my chip for you since we basically have the same car, all you would have to do is use the same cam i chose.

Re: (devilfish)
nice :) Can you get 430hp out of the 350 without make it a "track" only engine? What way should I go?

Re: (GRX)
why? my car is completely drivable & very easy to manage, also makes more HP than he was asking for. i don't see any reason to justify a $3000+ supercharger kit when it's very possible N/A it also is completely out of the listed budget.

Have you been to a dyno yet to prove this statement?

Re: (scorp508)
ran a 1/4 mile against a stock ZR1 & beat it by 4 tenths, ran a slightly modified one that was making 380rwhp & was pulling extremely similar times, i'll have dyno numbers in roughly a week, just need to fix the oil sensor leak first. i mean it's no big secret, TPIS has made a few engines that are basically identical to mine & created 420-450hp & 6800rpm redlines that are lifter limited. traction was definatly a problem so it's somewhat hard to guage just from that night, the one thing a miniram and good size cam does is create a rpm crazy engine. the low end torque the TPI use to make is gone, the engine runs more like a LT5 now than an L98

Re: (scorp508)
sure are but they aren't running on stiff road race koni's & also aren't on 285 30 18 porsh turbo S02 tires that were given to me just to burn up. who knows i'll just go dyno the thing & find out. i don't really want to set this car up for drag racing so my times will be slower than a car with slicks and a good weight transfering suspension. also if a car is doing low 12's with 285rwhp it probably has GOBS or torque to get going. with a MR and larger cam the torque isn't really there, it's a top end killer. my get go's just suck right now, i couldn't get better than a 2.1 60ft, either i let it out higher & fog the tires or bog it & loose some serious time. we'll see how i do this weekend i'm borrowing a friends 315 DR's. i also have the feeling i'll gain some time dyno tuning the chip and fuel psi.
