Ok, so we did the engine swap from a 95 to a 92, everything was a direct fit except the IAC plug and the Opti spark plug. I swapped out the plugs and started the car with the key, ran if for awhile and shut it down because the idle would not drop below 2k. after we went to start it again with the key, everything would work but no start. with key on we jumped the starter and it fired right up. when i disconnect the IAC no check engine light comes on and it makes no diff in the idle, still at 2k. No vacuum leaks. so what may have gone wrong with the ignition and the idle: banghead:
Do you have scanner and/or fsm? The 92 ecm may not be able to operate the 95 IAC. With no start do you has spark and injector pulse? Codes?
no codes and everything is there to start, just no signal to the starter. I checked the clutch switch and bypassed it but no change, i also used a different key
If you can jump starter and car will start probably not VATS. I would check starter enable relay to see if it has voltage and getting signal to turn on.

well, I tried something that someone suggested and it worked. I took the keys with me on an errand i had to run that was about 15 miles away. came back and the car started right up. what the heck?
I took the keys with me, about 15 miles away while i was running an errand. It took me about 45 minutes to finish up my errand. when I came back home I put the key in the ignition, and the car fired right up. I have a habit of leaving the keys in both corvettes when they are stored in the garage, that way i never have to search for the keys when we want to drive one. maybe it just needed a reset if that is a possibility. whatever it was, it worked
