The piping is the way it is in case I can figure out out to get an intercooler in. The thought is to continue the piping on the passenger side and feed the inlet side of the intercooler from that side. Just need to do some more looking and finish up the lose ends before I try to get anything else to fit. Still open to ideas.

Yep, that's an option as well. I believe there is space where the hvac fan was. Waiting to get everything in place.

Been too long since an update. Engine is done and marked off the list. Exhaust is complete except for wrapping the drivers side downpipe. I'm happy with the exhaust and will snap a pic when I'm under the car again. It's a 2 1/2" stainless with high flow cats, a x pipe and 2 large turbo mufflers. Had to mount the mufflers at a 45 degree angle and the now occupy the space where the spare tire was. Started on wiring, but sorta between the other projects. Started on the suspension work today. I'm putting C6 calipers, slotted rotors, brake hoses, pads on the front as well as poly bushings, heim joint sway bar links, new kyb shocks, and maybe some cooling ducts for the rotors. In the rear, just a complete brake rebuild, poly bushings, and 1" lowering bolts. Replacing any worn items as needed. Since this is an 84. The step up from the original single piston calipers appears to be a big upgrade.Engine is finally wrapped up.
Out with the old.
Huge differences, lots of new parts
Calipers are much larger than the original single piston. The powder coating is nice also.
1/2 way there. Just the control arms to go, then cleaning, lots of cleaning.

nice update! Does the hood close normally over your set up or did you have to end up modifying it?

Looks good and lots of work done under that hood! I also have an 84 and I want to do a brake upgrade on it. Where did you get the adaptor bracket to make this work?

Hood needs about 2" to clear. My buddy who is good at fiberglass looked it over and had concerns about cutting the original scoop loose and raising it a couple of inches, then adding material, cloth, and resin to put it back together. I still don't get get why it would be that hard. But I try to take the advice of the one's who know over my guesses. Looking for a hood with scoop now. I have some time as I don't think I'll make much summer driving this year. Work has been very good this year and that's what buys the parts, so I'll finish up late and take the work. The adapter plates for the calipers came from eBay for something like $160 ish. Nice pieces.

Someone advised me on this, but the C4 is made out of SMC fiberglass.
Read up on it before attempting to modify.

Thanks! It would just take a lottt of time and work. I'm no expert with glass but I have done some repairs to mine and it just takes time and sweat. Would have to cut it, make some brackets in order to hold it up at the correct height, lay a lot of glass to fill the hole, sand and paint. But that is easier said then done. Depending on how much you have to raise up there are carbon fiber hoods that have 1" more rise than normal. I have looked at one from andysautosports.com that around the same price for a new hood. ebay would probably be the cheaper route

That too /\

Looking at your parts, it looks like you have an 84 brake hose set there?

I had to use C5 brake lines as i could not turn the wheels with the 84 lines due to them being to short.

The caliper set i bought were used, and included a set of brake lines in nice condition, so i ran with them...

Also look at the DRM brake bias spring, it helped a bit with my cars rear brakes...

Yes, he is hung up on the SMC. I have done some small repairs on fiberglass boats before but nothing this large and nothing with SMC, so looking around for an after market hood.

The instructions for the brake adapters say the C4 hoses will work. But I will pay extra attention when I put it back together. I wish I would have ordered braided hoses but hind sight is always clearer. I have a bias spring ordered. Thanks for the input, always great to hear from those who already have.

Ok team, question of the day: since I'm no longer running cross fire. What years C4 hoods will bolt on? I know the 84 was unique but I think that's because of the cross fire air cleaner inlets.
