Default 97 LT-1 fuel pressure

Hey guys, hoping somebody can help me out. 96 LT1..fuel pressure at idle is 20 psi. When I disconnect the vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator the gauge only moves to 21psi. Gauge does not change when revving...if I stab the throttle it will stumble, sometimes stall. If I roll on it breaks up around 3500-4000 rpm. I've replaced the opti 6months ago. I'm thinking fuel pump. I hate to just throw parts at it. Thanks, Bill

When was the last time you changed the fuel filter?

IMO
one of three things
1. Clogged filter
2. Old fuel pump
3. Bad regulator
If the fuel pressure regulator is good, I'd move on to fuel filter if its original, since its a maintenance item

Good news is pulling the pump is really easy on a C4.....

Did you pinch off the fuel return line IOT check fuel pressure regulator?

If you did that and line pressure didn't jump up its time to look at the pump.

Good news is you can remove the pump easily and it may be a dirty sock or leaking pulsator etc... but all accessible from the top without dropping the tank.
