Default Thoughts on my set-up, going with a LPE219 cam

I currently have a bigmouth intake, large tube runners, ported plenum, Headman headers, 2000 stall converter and 3.07 gears and stock 128 heads. I am running the stock cam in my 87 tpi, however I have been looking at cams and Im thinking on pulling the trigger on the LPE219 cam.
Obviously if I get this cam I will have my 128 heads ported. I was thinking of sticking with 1.5rr, will clearances be ok with this cam? Do you think there will be a noticeable difference in performance?

cam Part Number: L210035087
has 112 lobe separation angle
.527 lift with 1.5 rocker ratio for intake and exhaust
The reason why Im looking at this cam is because I want something for a weekend cruiser with occasional visits to the drag strip. I seem to find good review with this cam and similar combos but im not sure if im going to have any clearance issues? is anyone running this cam in there l98 and what are your thoughts on it?

I have run the cam on my old combo. I ran with 1.6 rockers and a set of Tri-Y headers with the SR manifold. Unfortunately I was running TFS heads which I believed wrecked my LPE 383. Obviously you will need a dyno tune.

So if i have 1.5rr with this cam with the 128 head I should be alright? Im not sure how to check for ptv clearances and didn't want to spend $350 for a cam I cant use. For the tune I wanted to data log and get something form Harris performance, do you think the engine will run good enough to data log or do I need to take it to a dyno? I cant find anyone that does e proms within 3 hours of me.

Are you doing the job or is someone doing it for you? If you are doing it yourself, the link is below. Do it with the stock rockers first. They are 1.5. If that works and you have enough, you can try a 1.6.

Who is doing the dyno tuning?

Thanks! Im going to attempt this myself, I was going to data log and get a chip form Harris Performance, do you think I can data log with this cam? or does it need to be sent to a dyno?

Your piston to valve clearance will be fine, and it will run OK but will need a tune to work very well. should be a good combination.

Mark, probably a stupid question but will your modifications pass Ca smog test? I think the cam and msd intake will but I'm not sure about the CAI and long tube headers.
Thanks

The headers will not pass visual inspection, likely won't pass the sniff test but could be tuned to do so for the test if a good cat is in place, I just wouldnt run that tune the other 364 days of a year.
