Service Engine Soon and loss of power
Hi Everyone,
1989 L98 104K. Runs very good, one small issue: When cruising at light throttle on the highway (around 65MPH) once in a while i will have about a 1-2 second dip in power and then the Service Engine Soon light comes on and the power returns. If i step on the gas the light goes away, and if i take my foot off the gas the light goes away too.
Any ideas? I was thinking fuel pump or O2 sensor???
Help and THANKS as always!

Check the fuel pressure. Should shoot up to 40 psi and not drop more than 20 psi in 20 minutes.
I just replaced my pump on my 86 and it looked like it was melting from age sitting in gasoline all the time.
