Want to lower temps a bit, since its smaller, considered wiring it to run any time engine is on. It shouldn't cool to much?
That or just continue to work on putting a switch on the larger fan on inside to flip on when I want.

Ok found out it was an optional item, for heavy duty cooling. small square blade fan that blows into ac rad in front. and just a large single fan in back that sucks through cooling rad.

Hey that little fan works pretty good I changed my sensor to 210(from 238) between 6-8 cyl.
With it at 210 that one runs most of the time and the large fan runs at 228. Usually get to 225 when it is hot out at the most. Anyway I can say the configuration of aux fans is different by year I have an 85. Mabey this helps.

The auxiliary (pusher) fan comes on about 10F above the rear main fan, which is ECM controlled. The aux fan is wired to a temp switch, which you can swap out to make it come on earlier.
But running fans at speeds above 35-40mph is actually detrimental to cooling, so you don't want it running all the time.

Just don't like the roller coaster temps when around town running.
Put a switch on that fan but under the hood just to try it out.
changed out the cheap 195 stats for a good 180 stats with a wobble air bleed that and the fan on, stayed under 202 [ saw 201 once ] running short trip errands.
Just hate how high it gets on those short stop n go runs, watching the temp rise higher and higher, till the fan kicks on. If it didn't turn on, your already so hot, you have to nearly shut it off and wait. Past 220 the temps climb fast without air.
