Default Which battery for an LT4 GS?

Hey all. Can someone please give me a specific part number of a battery that will properly fit in a GS? I did searches for 96 LT4 battery but the replies were "red top, sears, die-hard 9, optimus prime"...etc and when I Google those things I get a million possibilities. I called the local autopparts store and they said they didn't have any batteries for a 1996 Corvette. I know the terminals need to be on the side but is there a specific size to look for when shopping for a new battery? I'm new at the battery swap obviously.

Help!

I'm looking for replies like "model 2395257 from Sears will fit like a glove and has enough CCA for the LT4"

Thank you very much!

Best,
Gene

A GROUP 75 battery with as many CCA as you can afford will do you well. Brand and model might change from each but if you stick to a GROUP 75 specification you will be fine.

I only use AC Delco batteries in my Corvettes. In checking other battery prices the Delco batteries are less expensive from my local AC Delco parts store. The Delco battery in my 1985 is over 9 years old now and the last Delco in my 1996 lasted about this long.

When I replaced mine last year, I got one of the "Everstart MAXX" batteries from Walmart. Had the highest CCA and one of the best prices of all the ones I looked at other than the gel batteries. It's worked just fine for me, and my daughter has one also.

Not being a smartazz, but with a little research, you will learn that most batteries are made by Johnson Controls, or their affiliates. ACDelco does not make a battery, nor does Sears, Interstate, and most other brands.
These batteries are made by Johnson Controls. Battery brands with the same values (CCA) are basically the same battery.

As posted, buy the battery with the most CCAs, that fits your vehicle, at the lowest price.

I have found that Costco offers the best value in batteries, but their selection may be limited.

90% are made by either Johnson Controls OR Exide. I always laugh at 'brand wars or favorites'. No matter what your getting one or the other period.

Not much of a parts store if they don't stock a group size 75 battery

For wathever stupid reason, Delco seems to work. She, give you everything you want. Boom boom long time. The Batteries Plus and whatever doesn't have the longevity.

Yes but to what spec? You don't think that it is simply a matter of sticking a different label do you?

I do private labels. Same factory, same ingredients, different concentration. More money, more good stuff and less filler. Less money less good stuff and more filler. Bag is same size but we put whatever name you like.

All the info here is good. Please keep in mind the location you are in. I am from Scottsdale,Az. It doesn't seem t matter what brand you buy, they only last approximately two(2) years out here. I have had Optima, Walmart, O'Reilly brand batteries for my 96 and they all were replaced by the store within the three year warranty. So, for what it's worth, climate, charging into systems, etc. all play a role in the batteries longevity. I remember it seemed a five year battery in NY would last the five years and maybe more. No so here in AZ. Now I base the purchase on the ccr and the warranty. Seems to be the best combo for me.
