minimum bolt on's C4 auto for 12.80s question
street car week ends driver. So far , only cam and intake porting, 3200 stall converter and ceramic headers.
Never been on the race track but would like to run in the 12's some day. Any suggestions are appreciated.

what rearend gear?
willing to port the heads, try a 1.6 rocker or cam even?
Dont see how youll get there wtih strictly bolt ons doesnt hurt to try
Youll need a set of M/T drag radials for sure
Couple guys here can help you set up your suspension that can drop tenths off with no engine mods
Plans on getting to the track, keep a thread going on updates
Fun seeing what you can do with stock stuff doesnt have to cost a bunch.

..... Take it to the track and get a baseline ... see how much more is needed to accomplish your goals ... Beware the fever , once you get into the 12's you will start wondering about 11's then mid-11's , etc. .....

I like Hoosier DOT Drag Radials
https://www.summitracing.com/int/sea...g-radial-tires
With radials it is like diving on street tires unless it is raining. The car will feel stable, and you can still turn. I have tried M/T diagonals. They will have a bit more grip but very unstable.
Adjust camber so the tires are flat when the rear squat. ( Maximize tire footprint )
Raise the rear to increase initial bite ( instant center angle )
Front shocks that are double adjustable. ( Set loose rebound and hard compress ) The front will rise easy and stay up to maximize weight transfer.

What cam?
Need a baseline first. Then get it to hook before you start adding power.
3.45 gears and drag radials and you may be there now.
Make sure it has been tuned since the cam and headers.

Melting Slicks
Standard they were kind of slow mid 14 sec quarter mile car,
that is what my 85 was when I got her over 20 years ago.
14.4 quarter mile stock standard, went back a week later with long tube headers, cold air intake and adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
Did 13.6 quarter, set from 32 to 50 psi fuel pressure got tires nice and hot more practice launching her to stop excessive wheel spin.
Lowered tire pressure advanced timing and went to a flat 13 sec quarter, has 3.07 rear gears standard turbo 700 auto.
Was quite happy way more seat of the pants performance,
then around 10 years later I put a blower on and went to mid 11 sec quarters.
Have recently gone back to naturally aspirated due to the blower whine annoying me, modern tires are heaps better for traction so maybe look at some super sticky competition tires to dip into the twelve's without needing a blower.
A mini ram would help with a performance camshaft and performance heads to go another second quicker.
