1984 C-4 Transmission kicks :cry:cry
Hi my name is Michel, I just bought my Corvette, a C4-1984.
When I put it in drive the transmission seems to kick, When driving I have the impression the back end of the car kinks to the left and it shifts really hard.
I have done a transmission oil change and filter, verified the bushings from one end to the other, I do not see no useage on them.
I have also done the adjustment on the tvcable. It is still doing it.
Any idea's what I can check or do?

The TH700R4 transmission is famous for shifting hard between 1st and 2nd - especially if a previous owner has installed a shift kit. It's even common for them to shift so hard that they'll squawk the tires between 1st and 2nd. You just have to keep your foot out of it when you're accelerating.
From my experiences with three different cars equipped with a TH700R4, there is usually a slight noticeable hard clank when you shift into drive - it's just the way that transmission is.
The transmission in the '84 had a few common issues unique to that year such as a jerk or thud when it downshifts out of overdrive, and sometimes you can feel a thud when the torque converter locks. I wouldn't concern myself too much if that is what you are experiencing. I would however be concerned if there is any noticeable slipping or you experience hard up shifts into third or overdrive.

kick meaning hard shifting, addressed above
if you mean when you give it gas it feels like the rear of the car kind of shifts to one side then when you let off does the opposite?

A rough shifting transmission might be caused by low fluid level and/or air bubbles. Check the fluid level. As for the left shifting rear, that suggests poor rear wheel alignment and off center thrust angle. Find a shop that can do a good 4-wheel alignment.
