How do i make 110 LSA cam work for street tpi 383 ?
Ported Tpi 350 with LT4 hotcam and 1.6rr on 350 L98. custom ecm.
Watching for 383 short block and re-thinking cam. Keeping TPI top end. Comp has a cam XR294HR with 110 lsa. Will it idle ok in street conditions? recommendations on heads to match up with the above are appreciated. will porting 113 heads help?

..... XR 294 HR is too much cam (duration) for TPI and 113 heads ... you need something that will complement the low end characteristics of the Tuned Port Intake .....

..... The AFR 195 heads will appreciate a better flowing intake manifold . There are a lot of choices . I would try to drop the compression closer to 10:1 for a pump gas street motor ... stick with the hot cam if you insist on keeping the TPI .....

are you using the stock manifolds or headers?
Grab yourself some used asm or accel runners..or ever consider a converted LT1 intake? David Frederick sells them in the parts section nice upgrade. Cheap miniram
do you have to pass smog, what state?

Texas over 25 yr old cars have saftey only, no smog test. just pulled the smog stuff off this week end. Hoses and lines running all over the place.

powder coated ported lower intake manifold, enlarged runners and ported plenum were all done on cam swap. Old picture but now has headers and no smog. Pic way too large but only picture i had.

Nice looking motor. I agree with others, if you want performance, chuck the tpi and get a miniram or a Superram.
