Default anyone have experience with replacement antenna mast

1990 Base Coupe.

Finally happened. Shut car off in garage today and antenna stayed up. Motor ran about the normal amount of time to retract and shut off. So it appears the motor is fine. It cycles up and down, but no antenna movement.

I found a replacement antenna at mid america

Anyone have experience with this? Seems easy enough assuming there are no plastic parts from the old antenna roaming around in the motor.

Since your antenna stayed all the way up, you have a good chance of replacing your old antenna with a new mast as described above. Pulling the antenna motor out is a chore.

Thanks for your help. I'll get one ordered and report back.

I had to pull the antenna motor and open it up, a piece of the plastic ribbon broke off inside.
A bit of a PITA but not too bad

Default solved

With the mast replacement from mid America, it was as easy as it looked. Hardest part was carefully removing the grommet. Works like new. Came with contact spring and wrench for the antenna nut.

I used these guys: http://www.antennamastsrus.com and it was an easy replacement job.
Wish I had seen your post earlier.
