Did Someone Say, "Snap rings"?
Okay, fellow Corvetters, I've removed the Dana 44 from my '91, taken off the batwing and inspected the carrier and gears (it's a 3.45 after all). Surprisingly, everything looks great with little sign of wear. So, it may not require anything except for new oil seals. However, I'm at a loss to ID the axle yolk snap rings. Apparently I don't know what I'm looking fxdlor. Anyone have a photo of them? Also, is it safe to wash down the inside of the differential and carrier with parts cleaner before installing the seals and reassembling everything?

Melting Slicks
Take a flashlight and look at the very ends of the stub axles. They are a fun to get out and back in even with proper 90 degree snap ring pliers.
You can wash it down with brake cleaner. Just lube the bearings with gear oil right after it's dry so they don't rust.
