Default Looking for cam advice for LT4 intake on 383

Trying to match David's LT4 conversion intake with new 383 with 195cc heads 10.5 to 1 ratio. Looking for good performance approx 5500rpm. Any suggestions will help. Auto/3000 stall and shift kit/ stock rear end.

The cheapest and easiest thing to do is the GM LT4 Hot Cam. It will make 5500RPM in a 383 easily and work well with your stall and gearing. Even with the base AFR spring package I would recommend you run 1.65 or 1.7 ratio rocker arm on it.

I could make a little more power with a custom grind from Mike Jones's EHR series Lobes but at considerable added expense.

Hotcam is a good default choice.Or one of the smaller cams that Loyd Elliot offers with more lift.

Advanced Induction has some nice grinds as well.

I wouldn't pick a cam smaller then a CC503- 224/230 .503/.510 for your set up. What are the flow #s for the heads?

..... Are the ports on the heads going to match up to the raised ports on the LT4 intake ? .....
