Default secondary air delete??

I don't know if that's what its called but the pipes coming off the headers and going back into the intake mani.. do we need it? just for emissions NO? if not is it as easy as capping the 2 header ports and the IM port? Would like it gone if not needed

I removed my lines and had them welded smooth on the headers. Mine look the same as yours but were off a C3 California and yes they are for emissions.

I'd also remove the pump and put a pulley in place. Much cleaner to get around things.

A '96 will set a check engine light if you pull it off, The obd2 ECM checks the operation of the emission devices. It will likely need to be tuned out to not set a code, '96 Caprice's did.

Yep, you'll need to get Jet DST to turn that diagnostic test off and set it to "do not report." If you can do that, you will not get a light or code and it will pass a scanned emissions inspection.

'96 ? I believe the AIR pump is electric and only has tubing to the exhaust manifolds - shouldn't be anything going to the intake. I think you need to take another look. The electric pumps only run for a short time when cold starting the car. Really pretty harmless to performance.
Yes it's just for emissions when the cat is cold. If you have to change your tune to prevent codes it's probably easier and much less expensive to leave as is.

Ah okay thanks everyone! It's procharged and needs a retune so the tuning issue isn't to concerning. as well the car will only need a tailpipe test for emissions, and has no cats anyways :P

Not sure what I have going on here then, maybe its egr and im going crazy?

Can see the tube coming from the passenger side and the check valve form the driver, and then it goes down and merges into the IM?
