Default LT1/LT4 Stock Exhaust Resonator ??

I know they changed at some point..

I know the LT4 exhaust is the stock exhaust to find/get.

When did the resonator change and what were the changes?

I have a resonator PN 10143518.. Wonder if it worth keeping around..

The resonator changed in 93 and is the same for the LT1, LT5 and the LT4.

I spoke with Marc Haibeck as I wanted to change out the resonator on my 91 LT5 and he said that any 93 and up will work great. He said the resonator swap was worth an easy 8-10.

I ended up with a Magnaflow "X" pipe resonator and kept the stock mufflers. The car is slightly louder but zero drone.

There is a photo showig the difference between the factory resonator pipe diameter and the MF "X" pipe.

The "EMBOSSED" # in the resonator is actually the assembly # for the "system" cat to rear bumper. The 10143518 is a '92 - '93 LT1 system complete!

You would need to actually compare the resonator you have to the '93+ LT5 to confirm it's similarity.

Poster #2 is likely correct for LT5 but I don't know that it's reliable information for LT1 systems. I doubt it!!

well I am hoping to find out if this one is better flow than the 90 one.. I have corsa on the car now.. but always wondered how the stock exhaust would sound with a better flowing resonator and my C6Z Cats (I have yet to install).. I am using magnaflow cats currently

I'd say it's a bunch of aggravation and FOR WHAT?

For those who have done it opinions on is it better to lose resonator or mufflers on a lt1/4. The sound in the videos are about the same at idle. I would rather not cut up exhaust, but I don't want to pay the corvette tax on a 3 inch system.

Lose the resonator and get the least restrictive mufflers you can find (insert muffler debate here).

Bill: did you use the Magnaflow 12469 wich is a 3" in/out or did you install the 2 1/2" version? (MF 12468)
