Yes it will fit, if you change the front brackets. ( 84-86 early Brackets)
I put a 1993 top on my 1984 by putting the later model front brackets on my car. (89-96 Brackets)
That is all that necessary, except the holes on the front trim will not line up and will require drilling new holes so you can get the tool inside to remove and replace the top. The plastic trim on the top of the brackets is also different if my memory serves me.
All these parts I got used on the forum for sale section.
