Flat Spots on tires after sitting for ~10 years

His response was a failed attempt at humor.
The OP asked for advice then initially rejected it and attempted to justify why...which in itself doesn't make a lot of sense.
New tires make a new car. Its as simple as that. Trying to round-out 10 year old ruined tires is just dumb.

So I guess I know what everybody thinks of the Eagle STs I run on my '69 that I got lightly used from a friend in 1996.

If it blows apart like Dad's did and you get hurt, you can see which is easier. Earn more money or regrow skin and bones.

radial tires will flat spot over time but you can run the flat spots out. 10yr old tires are less safe than 5yr old tires which are less safe than 1yr old tires. No way i would make any high speed runs on 10yr old tires. I've had really good luck with picking up almost new used tires saving a lot of money vs new. You can try that if money is an issue....like it always is for me working on these cars.

My two vettes are year round DD.
I run Goodyear GSD3 for the summer months though they are quite good in the rain ... but I switch wheels and tires in the rainy winter months and run Conti DWS. Very happy with both of these tires though they are not inexpensive.
I run Nitto Invos on my C5 very happy with them as well.

When I had an F-body, I could get take off 245 50 ZR16 Goodyear GSC from Tire Rack or SLP, can't remember which. I have had a tire from a tire shop to tide me over till I got home and could get a set from Discount Tire on sale but as to running it on a performance car where I tend to get it to 100 on ramps daily, I'm not so sure I want to skimp on that and take the chance of a used tire of unknown origin. YMMV

When I got my 95 the seller said the tires were fine even when I pointed out how old they were. I changed them right away. It was amazing to see the amount of cracks come out on the side wall when I put them on the tire machine to change them. They were 12 years old. I put on Nittos and there was a difference in the ride.

I had a front driver side tire blow out on me going 60 mph in a rental car years ago. Spoiler alert, the moment a tire pops, it shreds everything around it. This was a metal fender too, the fender looked like an exploded bloomin' onion when I finally coasted to a stop in the median of the interstate. Pending you don't take someone else out with you if it's a front tire blow out, the best case scenario will be a destroyed portion of your fiberglass hood, side fender, front bumper, and damage to your undercarriage on the side with the popped tire kissing the ground during the carnage.
Get new tires.

Not to promote this thread again...but I just wanted to point something out real quick that might be applicable to the topic.
My neighbor has a jet powered dragster....it goes a bit over 200mph in the 1/4 mile.
He runs old Goodyear NASCAR Taledega tires that (if I recall) are well over 10 years old.......
For what it's worth.....
Skiddy.
