Default 52mm throttle body Air intake tube fitment

I have a 89 C4 vette. I replaced the throttle body with a Summit Racing 52mm one. After install, the stock air intake tube will not fit. I have looked at aftermarket ones. But none say if they will fit the aftermarket throttle body. Does anyone know of one that will work?

I had installed a 52mm TB on my '87 and had the same problem. But I found a workaround using a heat gun. Using the heat gun on the medium setting, I heated up the TB end of the tube so that it would stretch easily going over the TB. I then used the OEM clamp to hold it in place.

Had to work quickly to get the end over the ribs on the TB, but after a couple tries, I could get it to slide on. But I had to work quickly as the tube would quickly shrink back as the heat was lost. From what I saw, the tube wasn't hurt by the application of the heat, but I tried to not get it so hot that it would start to wrinkle/melt.

I had the same problem on one I bought from the Throttle Body Shop (Amazon). They ended up sending me a stock unit that they had ported to 52mm and re-bushed. It works really nice. The shaft was sticking in my original TB which was the reason I replaced it.

I replaced mine for a starting issue. Whole fuel system has been replaced, pump, injectors, TPS and regulator. New MAF sensor and relays. Would start when it wanted to. Starting fluid would work when it didn't start. Ran rich when it was running and idled a little high.. But has plenty of power when it's running and no other issues. I ordered a new TPS because I might have damaged the current one on install. Hopefully when I get it set she'll run. Wouldn't start at the moment. But will with starting fluid and runs good. This issue is aggravating me to no end. I've talked to mechanics and all say it's the throttle body. I guess pretty normal at 90,000 miles. Any body else have any suggestions?

I did the same mod with one of the after market smooth rubber hoses. I used a lubricant to keep it from sticking to the TB after it cooled to the larger TB. I went with a bbk 52mm TB.
