Default new vet owner, need help on something Dash read out.

I just purchased a 93 40th, been sitting a while 2 years straight and off and on before that for 3 years. total miles in 5 years 800.

the dig dash reads out 8888888888888888 ever where and blinks back and forth. make no diff is running or key is on. have a wire connector located under the master cyl that is live all the time. its not the one on the brake fluid res. but looks like it might suppose to slip on a male plug that come out of the below the master cyl. the red brake line is on.
also radio was working on a preset channel, but now raises ant. but won't come on. figure all these bugs are from sitting. if anyone has some ideas, I would appreciate it. tks Mike

I would start with checking all grounds then move on to http://batee.com/articles.html Bryan is a great guy and is always willing to help sort out digital dash issues. The link I gave above goes to his DIY tech section. There is a lot of great information in this section. A call to Bryan and worst case send the cluster to him and he will make it as good as new.

I believe that you get a '93 FSM (Factory Service Manual) and sort your issues one by one at your own pace. You've mention very much for someone to attempt to comment on.

Do you have the FSM? You need it for sure.

solution was to take the cluster out, unplug the main coupler inside the cluster, clean off the contacts with some 800gt, no loose wires, put back together, WORKS GREAT. so cool and saved enough to do more other stuff.

radio is a different story. hear a faint radio station at one time but now nothing, seems to be the head.

It is good to be good, but way better to be lucky. Good for you.
