Default Gear change in my 94 LT1

I am looking for input/information on changing the gears in my 94
six speed. Car is stock with a Magnaflow Cat Back exhaust. I believe it has 3:23's stock? I was researching on line and was thinking of going with US Strange gear set and going to 3.54's. Any input would be appreciated. I am not racing the car. Just "spirited" street/on ramp driving. Also, what do I need to do for the speedometer to calibrate for the new gears? Thank you for the help/direction.

If your '94 is stock it will have 3.45 ratio.

I wouldn’t waste my time on that small of a change anyways.

WVZR-1 you are correct. Stock is 3.45's. Being that the stock gears are 3.45's I would consider 3.73's. I don't want to go too low and ruin it as a driver. Anyone done 3.73's and how do they act? Also would be interested in what it will be spinning in 6th gear on the freeway with the 3.73's. Thank you again for the input. Love this Forum!

Go to 4.10's or leave it alone. With 4.10's you will be shifting a lot (unless you just use 1st,3rd,5th 90% of the time like I did).6th gear is actually usable with 4.10's.I had to be running 80 to use it with 3.45's.

Speedometer is a reprogramming PCM. Gear change somewhat depends on where you drive. If highway speeds are below 75 3.73 -4.10 is okay highway speeds 75+ maybe not. There are calculators to help you decide on a ratio. Michigan has raised speed limits to 75mph so of course traffic can travel near 90mph. I'm a little over geared with A4 3.73 for 85-90. I don't do a lot of highway driving now, if I did I would look for 3.23-3.45.

I just got my car back together yesterday. I have a 1994 4A, with a LE2 build. I went with 4.11 and a DANA 44. Of course I had to get a shorter Driveshaft and c beam. I have only taken it for one drive so far. I love the 4.11. However, I drive mostly city, with a 3000 stall TC. But, unless you are constantly taking long trips, or it is a daily driver, I say go for it: 4.11 all the way. The acceleration is exhilerating.

M6 with 4.10's @ 70 mph = 1800 rpms.
