Default Controling false knock with what module?

I've read on the forum recently about a module, gm# 16038331, that is suppose to help with false knock. I thought I had read that it was suppose to work on '85 - '89 L-98s. I went by a couple of gm dealers today and they told me that part number was for '85 and '86's. Does anybody know for sure? The knock sensor is in the side of the block. Where is the module and what does it look like? Thanks

I think they may be talking about the sensor itself. My car would false knock like crazy even at idle. I unplugged my sensor about a year and half ago and haven't had a problem since.

Call and ask Jeff Kopp...800-728-8267.

The only module I know of works on '94-96 LT1's. I am not sure what the part number for it is though.

Actually that's the ESC module; it's located just to the right of the blower motor, above the side panel.

It is rather flat and has a cable comming down from undernieth.

On early L98s the knock sensor sends pulses to the ESC which conditions and transmits signals to the ECM.
